Zirconium crosslinkers were originally developed for manufacturing explosive gels. Because Borate crosslinked systems were limited to temperatures below 250°F and pH’s above 8 metallic crosslinked fluids were developed to broaden that range. The crosslinkers are manufactured in the form of a chelant using complexing agents Acetylacetone.
